Hut History and Purpose |
|
Past : This hut is on a small piece of freehold land called the Wabonga Block or Plateau. It is the second shelter built here, as a ruin is also visible to the East the block This ruin was the original Bullocks Hut (on this site, not to be confused with a Bullocks Hut near Thredbo) The hut is currently owned by Frank Ryan who lives in Chesunt. The hut was originally built after the second world war, by a returned serviceman who had been a prisoner of war in the Changi Camp. Due to poor health he was unsuccessful in working the property.
